Who are we and what do we do?

The Palmyra Elementary Parent Teacher Organization is an active organization composed of parents, legal guardians, and faculty from the three elementary schools (Pine Street, Forge Road, and Northside) in Palmyra, Pennsylvania. We work hard to be able to provide supplies, materials, and activities for students and faculty above and beyond those provided by the school district.

Through its various fundraising activities, the PTO is able to provide support to the teachers and students. In the past we have funded activities such as:

• providing funds for field trips

• funding several assemblies each year

• providing new maps and globes at Forge and Northside for 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th grade classrooms

• contributing to the reading programs

• providing meals and desserts for faculty during parent/teacher conferences

• funding the kindergarten playground fence at Northside

• purchasing new musical instruments for each of the elementary music programs

• supporting the summer book exchange program

• funding classroom supplies

• funding Project Wisdom - a program about making good choices/good attitudes/non-bullying behavior. This program is played in the morning over the loud speaker. For more info about this program, click here.

• supporting the elementary school walking clubs

• funding additional indoor recess activities

• purchasing back-to-school folders and planners for all students

• providing yearbooks for every 5th grade student

• providing kindergarten appreciation gifts - given to every kindergarten student to welcome them to Palmyra schools
