Parent Reps PDF  | Print |  E-mail

The PTO Parent Reps help first graders through their first week of eating lunch at school, prepare meals for teachers during November conferences, and host a teacher appreciation event in the Spring. Our volunteers are cooks, bakers, shoppers, and kind-hearted parents willing to volunteer their time and talents.

Cougars on the Prowl PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Our other big fundraiser is a fitness walk held in May in conjunction with Jelly Bean Day. All students can participate and receive a prize. Last year, we raised over $20,000, which is funding the mosaic projects in each of our three elementary schools this year. The goal for 2010-11 is to raise $25,000. We will start in January with planning meetings. Many volunteers are needed to help with this event, both the day of and the months leading up to the event. Fall Fundraiser PDF  | Print |  E-mail

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Traditionally, it is a catalog sale where many different items are offered. It takes a lot of volunteers, especially with distribution, to make this fundraiser a success.

Giant A+ Rewards PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Using your Giant Rewards card when you shop at Giant Foods benefits our schools. Once you register your card, a percentage of every purchase you make is paid back to your children’s schools. Register online at www.giantAplus.com. To credit your purchases to Forge, enter code 00722; Northside, 01033; Pine 01064. Last year, Giant paid our schools more than $3,200 as a result of parent participation.

Santa Shop PDF  | Print |  E-mail

This is a great opportunity for students to purchase low-cost holiday presents for the important people in their families. Held early in December each year at each of the elementary schools, Santa Shop relies on parent volunteers to help make it a success.

Box Tops for Education PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Don’t forget to clip Box Tops from hundreds of specially marked products. Send them into school with your child where collection baskets are in each office. Learn more about the program by visiting the official Box Tops for Education website at www.boxtops4education.com.

Spirit Clothing PDF  | Print |  E-mail

A spirit clothing sale is held each fall, not to raise money for the PTO, but rather as a way for students to show their Cougar Pride with Cougar wear. All items are of high quality and are offered at a reasonable cost.

Book Fair PDF  | Print |  E-mail

The Book Fair, held annually at each of the three elementary schools, is a great opportunity for students, teachers, and parents to purchase Scholastic books at a low cost. Committee members make arrangements; prepare flyers, letters, and signs at the schools; set up and tear down each fair; and handle the sales the day of.

Carnival PDF  | Print |  E-mail

The Elementary PTO Carnival is held each spring with the intent of providing students with a day of fun in celebration of a successful year. Children from toddler through elementary age enjoy age-appropriate games at this community event, and there is great food, a bake sale, and the always-popular raffle. This school year’s carnival is scheduled on May 21, 2011. A large number of volunteers will be needed for the event to be successful; information on how you can help will be sent home with students in early spring.

Yearbook PDF  | Print |  E-mail

The PTO provides a free yearbook to every 5th grade student at the end of the school year. The committee comprises 5th grade parent volunteers who are willing to help take photographs, lay out yearbook pages, serve as classroom contacts, and hand out the yearbook when it’s complete. Published by LifeTouch, the yearbook is compiled online through the publisher’s website.
