2008/2009 Officers & Committee Persons

Parent Reps PDF  | Print |  E-mail

The PTO Parent Reps welcome kindergartners to school with a short program during school hours, help first graders through their first week of eating lunch at school, prepare meals for teachers during November conferences, and host a teacher appreciation event in the Spring. Our volunteers are cooks, bakers, shoppers, and kind-hearted parents willing to volunteer their time and talents.

Spring Fundraiser PDF  | Print |  E-mail

COUGARS ON THE PROWL is a fitness walk that is held in May in conjunction with Jelly Bean Day. All students will get to participate and receive a prize. Last year, we raised over $20,000 and were able to pay for all students to attend field trips. The goal for 2009-2010 is to raise $25,000. We will start in January with planning meetings. We need a lot of volunteers to help with this event, both on the day of the event and the months leading up to the event. Fall Fundraiser PDF  | Print |  E-mail
This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Traditionally, it is a catalog sale where many different items are offered. It takes a lot of volunteers, especially with distribution, to make this fundraiser a success.

Giant Rewards PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Just by using your Giant Rewards card when you shop at Giant provides the PTO with a percentage of your purchase with no extra work for you. Don’t forget, even if you joined last year, you will need to re-register your rewards card for this year. You can register online at www.giantAplus.com. To have your purchases credited to Pine Street enter code 01064, to Forge enter code 00722, or to Northside enter code 01033. This is just another way to support the PTO without having to do anything extra

Santa Shop PDF  | Print |  E-mail
This is a great opportunity for students each year to purchase low cost presents for those important people in their families. It is held early in December each year at each of the elementary schools. The PTO has volunteers available to help students with their selections and payment. This activity is a lot of work and many, many volunteers are needed to help make it a success

Box Tops for Education PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Don't forget to CLIP and send in those Box Tops from hundreds of specially marked products. You may send them in to school with your child where there are collection baskets in each office. Our goal this year is for each student to clip just 8 Box Tops each month and we should easily reach our goal of $7,139! Thanks for doing your part! You can learn more about this program by visiting the official Box Tops For Education website at www.boxtops4education.com.

Spirit Clothing Sale PDF  | Print |  E-mail
Spirit clothing sales are held in the Fall and Spring. It is not a fundraiser for the PTO, but rather a way for students to show their Cougar Pride with Cougar wear at a reasonable cost.

Book Fair PDF  | Print |  E-mail
The Book Fair is held annually at each of the three elementary schools. It is a great opportunity for students, teachers and parents to purchase books at a low cost. This committee takes care of arranging for the book fair, preparing flyers, letters, and signs at the school, taking care of set up and tear down of the book fair, and handling the sales the day of the book fair.

Carnival PDF  | Print |  E-mail
The Elementary PTO Carnival is held each Spring with the intent of providing students with a day of fun in celebration of a successful year. In an effort to accomodate the busy schedules of Palmyra families, this year the carnival will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Buck Swank Stadium on May 16th. Children from toddler through elementary age enjoy age appropriate games. There is great food, a bake sale and the raffle is always popular. The carnival is an event that always needs a large number of volunteers to be succesfsful. We enjoy inviting the Middle School art students, who paint faces for us. It is definitely a community event and we look forward to your participation each year.

Yearbook PDF  | Print |  E-mail

This committee is composed of 5th grade parent volunteers. We have photographers, layout volunteers, contact persons for each classroom, volunteers to donate disposable cameras, and volunteers to handout the yearbook. The yearbook is put together and published by LifeTouch. We use the LifeTouch website to add pictures and complete the layout work. The PTO provides a yearbook to every 5th grade student at the end of the year free of charge.

If you are interested in volunteering or have any pictures of any 5th grade activities this year and would like to provide them for use in the 5th grade yearbook, please e-mail them to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
